FROM THE TEXAS PTA:

Environmental Awareness

Environmental awareness is usually associated with terms such as climate change, global warming and energy conservation. Although it is important for our children to understand the importance of being good stewards of our resources, being active in the environment is more than science. A sustainable and clean environment contributes directly to student success, and through this program, Texas PTA is working to expose families to the benefits of nature education, open green-space and conservation.

THE FOUR R’s:  Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose, Reduce
In the design world, the hot new trends are not only to buy recycled material to decorate our spaces and save the world, but to practice the four R’s.  Finding a way to reuse, recycle or repurpose items to redecorate your home, reduces waste. Put that practice to everyday life, and our world is on the way to be a healthier place.

GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK
The fashion industry has gone green! Choose organic or recycled material for your clothing. “Green” is cool!

DID YOU KNOW IT TAKES HUNDREDS OF YEARS FOR PLASTIC TO DECOMPOSE?
Help save our planet by choosing packaging wisely.  Bulk packaging reduces waste. Recycle your plastic, paper, aluminum & bottles. Take your batteries, cell phones and other electronics to the proper places to dispose, instead of junking up our environment with them. Dell offers its customers free recycling for their old computers. Make every day Earth Day and follow some of the tips to save our future.
